ABOUT U.C.C
The university was established in 1962 and it is about 50metres from the Atlantic ocean.The university was initially set up to train teachers for the second cycle schools of Ghana.It can boast of two schools and four faculties. The university can boast of attractions like the Botanical Gardens,the Zoological park,Tecnology Village and the likes.
It can also boast of an ultra-modern ICT centre with a capacity of 150 students.It also has one of the largest library in the country.
U.C.C has old and new site campuses with three halls at each place.

The school has a current student population of 14,ooo

The current vice chancellor is Rev.Prof.Emmanuel Addo-Obeng who had been in office for almost 4-years.

HALLS OF RESIDENCE
The first hall is OGUAA nick-named the Premier hall.It has 7-blocks named A-G with the G-block called "the monkey".It is a mixed hall with green as their color.They have the crab as their symbol.

ADEHYE is all an female hall and the smallest in size.Their colors are white and black and have an allegiance with Casely-Hayford hall an all male hall.

ATLANTIC is the next hal and it overlook the Atlantic ocean.It was fomerly an all male hall but was later mixed with women.Blue is thier color and thier building has 6-floors of two facing each other.The hall has a "moral"group called PAWA and can boast of an F.M.station.

The next hall is CASELY-HAYFORD hall located at the new site.It is an all male hall with red and white as thier colors.It is located at the new site. They claimed to be a university within a university thus UNICARSA.They are the super powers and call themselves "fellows".They have slogans like:hei,esemu-simple.

VALCO follows next and is a mixed hall as well as the biggest on campus.They call themselves the Industrialist and their hall has 8-blocks A to H and can also boast of an F.M.station called Radio Valco.Their colors are blue and yellow.It is located at the new site of the campus.

The next hall is NEW hall which was completed in year 2003. It has pink as it's color and also a mixed hall.The hall has a motto as Excellence and first to see when coming from Accra to the school.It is also located at the new site.

The greatest and largest hall is the "DIASPORA" hall which is made up of students who are not residing in the the halls.The majority of the students are in 1st and 2nd year.It comprises surrounding towns l ike Amamoma,Apewosika,Kwapro,Kwasi-Pra,Kokwadoetc. It is made up of hostels such as SSNIT,OYE-INN,BADUWA,HAMGLOW,AZZIZ etc.

STUDENTS' WORRIED OVER RESULTS OF FIRST- SEM EXAMS
A lot of students are worried about the delay in the release of first semester's results which the authorities say is not the best in recent times.

Some students' have only a subject released so far and others are yet to see a result.

Level 100 students are particularly dismayed about their fate in the comskills,which it is alleged that the performance was not encouraging.

The academic board has met on several ocassions to discuss about the results.

FIRST YEARS IN JUBILANT MOOD
Following the release of their com-skills results,some first years started singing and dancing in praise of GOD for seeing them through.
In VALCO hall you could see male students @ the aluta square in an ecstacy.
It can be recalled that most of them were afraid of the non results as a result of speculation that about 800 of them have been refered.
